Frequently asked questions
Why does Deenly need my location?
Your location is used on your device to compute accurate prayer times, the Qibla direction, and to find nearby mosques. Your location never leaves your device.
My prayer times look wrong. How do I fix them?
Open the More tab → Settings, and make sure the calculation method and madhab match what your local mosque uses. If you've recently travelled, make sure location access is granted in iOS Settings.
I'm not receiving adhan / prayer notifications.
- Open iOS Settings → Notifications → Deenly and make sure notifications are allowed.
- Check that Focus / Do Not Disturb is not blocking them.
- In Deenly, open More → Settings → Adhan and ensure notifications are enabled for each prayer.
The Qibla compass isn't pointing correctly.
Calibrate your iPhone compass by waving the device in a figure-8 motion. Step away from metal objects, magnets, or electronics that could interfere with the compass. Make sure Compass Calibration is enabled under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → System Services.
A mosque is missing or incorrect — how do I report it?
Open the mosque's detail page in the app and tap Report an issue. You can also email us with the mosque name, address, and what needs updating.
How do I change the Quran script or theme?
While reading, tap the reader settings icon. You can switch between Uthmani and Indo‑Pak script, change the text size, line spacing, paper theme, and reading mode (Continuous, Page, or Mushaf).
How do I listen to Quran audio offline?
Open a surah and start playback, then tap the download icon to save that surah to your device. Downloaded recitations play without an internet connection. Manage or remove downloads from the Quran audio settings.
Where are the duas, adhkar, and salawat?
Open the Dhikr tab. There you'll find the Tasbih counter, morning, evening & bedtime adhkar, prophetic and Quranic duas, and salawat — each with Arabic, transliteration, and meaning.
Can I choose a different adhan voice?
Yes. Open More → Settings → Adhan to pick an adhan voice, preview it, download it for offline use, and set which prayers should play the adhan.
Does Deenly work offline?
Yes — prayer times, the Quran text, the Qibla compass, Tasbih, duas & adhkar, the 99 Names, the Kalimas, and the Hijri calendar all work offline. Streaming Quran audio, map tiles, postcode lookup, and mosque‑directory updates require an internet connection (Quran audio and adhan voices can be downloaded ahead of time for offline use).
How much does Deenly cost?
Deenly is free. There are no in‑app purchases, no subscriptions, and no ads.
Which devices are supported?
Deenly runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17.6 or later.
